Few figures are more related to the history of France that Joan of Arc. Therefore, if one figure as round as this anniversary in the Loire Valley the party has been prepared to commemorate the great lives and achievements of this internationally recognized historical figure.
Orleans is the undisputed city for the figure of Joan of Arc. Here is the house that was home to heroin during the battle of Orleans, a faithful reconstruction of Bailly Jacques Boucher, describing dioramas shaped his life from his native village of Domremy in Lorraine to the stake in Rouen, Normandy. A place where the episode is remembered largely for the liberation of the city on May 8, 1429.
So Orléans is also the center of the celebrations that are taking place during the month of May: representations of the life of the saint, pyrotechnic displays, concerts, parades and music to a new postage stamp remember it. Even exposures, as can be seen at the Museum of Fine Arts until June 3, a colorful display of all ads that have been created so far to promote the anniversary of the holy hero. The exhibition features posters, programs, menus, invitations, illustrations, paintings and drawings related to it. Or the Supernatural entitled, by François Riou, located in the Museum of Natural Sciences of Orléans, until 16 September.
The fortress of Chinon also joins the celebration of June 22 and October 31 are invited to visit the exhibition Jeanne d'Arc à l'poster. During those months, visitors can discover this sample based on documents of various kinds (prints, flyers, posters ...), which reveal the importance of Joan of Arc as a heroine for France since the fifteenth century until the first half of the twentieth century and inspiration of various social movements. After a summer full of events, the festival of Joan of Arc will end in October 2012 with a great show in Orléans.
