Gijon has since this month with 42 new small ambassadors that will promote nautical tourism in the Asturian city.
This is Leon Badajoz school who participated in the pilot program nautical-cultural week.After
enjoying a few days of Gijón and the sea, the students from Sacred
Heart schools in Leon and Lady of Consolation Feria de Badajoz, have
received from the hands of Councillor for Economic Development and
Employment and Tourism Gijon president, Fernando Couto , a diploma certifying them as 'mini ambassadors of Gijon.'The
group of children in Badajoz is the Winner of Get in path ', which
organizes the cooperation network of cities in the Ruta de la Plata,
which is a founding member Gijón, whose prize was the participation in these weeks nautical culture.This
program, promoted by Gijón Tourism, is to combine the initiation and
learning of sports to promote tourism in Gijón and welcome student
groups throughout the year.Its
creators claim and find new market niches through the child population,
"making these infants a potential ambassadors of Gijón, which is
expected to achieve objectives in the short, medium and long term,"
explained from Gijón Tourism.The
small, landlocked locations from not only thus enjoy days off to
participate in water activities, but probably encourage their families
and other children to repeat the experience. The
program hopes to even have long-term outcomes, when these students are
already adults and transmit this memory of his childhood to future
generations.During
these days, have played sports such as sailing, surfing, windsurfing,
canoeing, and have had the opportunity to meet some of the attractions
of Gijón Aquarium, the Botanical Gardens or the Technical College.This
action is part of the activities outlined in the agreement between the
Regional Tourist Board, the Company Gijón Joint Tourism and the Port
Authority of Gijón to perform throughout 2012, and jointly activities
aimed at promoting nautical tourism .
