Earned more than one million visitors The amusement parks increased their sales by 4% in 2011 reaching 555 million euros

Sales of the Spanish theme parks rose 4% in 2011 reaching 555 million euros thanks to the 32.2 million visitors who took advantage of good weather last year, especially foreigners, the study 'Sectors Parks Entertainment ', published by the consultancy DBK.

   
The improved performance corresponded to the theme park segment, reaching its turnover 172 million euros in 2011, 7.5% from the previous year. The number of visitors increased by 13.3% to 6.8 million.

   
Meanwhile, water parks achieved a turnover of 131 million euros, 3.1% more than in 2010, benefiting from the high temperatures in the summer. Furthermore, the turnover generated by all zoos, aquariums and nature parks increased by 3.5% in 2011, reaching 207 million euros.

   
The parks segment was the only one who experienced a decline in revenue during 2011, reaching 45 million euros, 2.2% less than last year.

   
According to the study of DBK, worsening economic conditions and the weakening of international tourism demand for 2012 to anticipate a moderate decrease in the number of visitors to all parks.

   
However, the turnover of firms is estimated to grow only half a percent in 2012. For 2013 is expected to grow about 1.5%, which would be worth about 570 million euros.GOOD PROSPECTS FOR THE SUBJECT.

   
The theme park segment is expected, again, to record better outcomes because of the attraction opened in some of the major parks in the season. Thus, revenues will increase by around 3% in 2012, reaching some 175 million euros.

   
In May 2012 in Spain 129 operated amusement parks, of which 71 were zoos, aquariums and parks including the nature-, 47 water parks, amusement parks and six five theme parks.

   
In 2011 the top five operators in the sector together a combined share of the total market value of 73.4%, a share that rose to 83.4% when considering the top ten companies.
