Hotel rates will shoot up in Cannes during the Festival

Tourists will spend an average of €340 per night on hotels during the entire Cannes Festival (May 15-26). According to exclusive figures Relaxnews has received from trivago.fr, this is 164% more than in the ten days before the event.
According to these same figures, as soon as the event is over, prices will go back down to what they were at the start of May. Indeed, ten days after the festival (May 27 - June 5) rates will decrease by 61%. Travelers will pay an average of €131/night for a hotel room.
The figures from the survey launched by Relaxnews and trivago.fr also shows that hotel rates during the festival this year are higher than in 2012. Last year, tourists spent €325/night on average on hotels, which is €15 less than this year.
